About Us
Cameroon is located along the coast of west Africa (ampit of Africa). It is bounded to the north by Tchad, to the east by Central African Republic, to the south by Republic of Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and to the west by Nigeria. Cameroon is Africa in miniature because it has a semi-desert region in the north, Savannah region in the center and equatorial rain forest region in the south. The highest mountain in west and central Africa, Mount Fako, is located in Cameroon.
Cameroon has English and French as official languages. The local language mostly spoken in the English speaking regions of Cameroon and in Douala is called "PIDGIN". PIDGIN is a mixture English, German, and Portuguese. It was used in the pre-colonial era as a means of communication between west Africans and Europeans. French is predominant in the other regions in the country.
Cameroon has over 250 tribes with both similarities and disparities in their culture. The administrative and economic headquarters of Cameroon are Yaounde and Douala respectively. Cameroon is famous in football and high quality tobacco.
